With the COVID-19 quarantine around the world, telecommuting has become a key focus, and millions of professionals are finding new ways to stay focused and productive outside the office.
And this, logically, has led many to seek advice and guidance to help them maximize their WFH efforts. This focus is reflected in LinkedIn’s list of the most popular LinkedIn training courses in 2020, with two of the top three courses directly related to remote work.
Explained by LinkedIn:
The pandemic has changed the way we work, live, communicate – everything – and these top courses show that people have taken the time to learn how to work more productively remotely, create work-life balance, and connect with virtual teams.
As noted in the video, over 3 million people have taken the top 20 LinkedIn training courses this year, which highlight several key areas, including teleworking, project management, personal branding, and the old classics, maximizing the use of Excel (mastering pivot tables still seem like a great achievement).
LinkedIn also notes that there is more emphasis on emotional intelligence and effective listening in 2020, which is likely due to the broader #BlackLivesMatter movement and more empathy and understanding towards all of your colleagues and business partners.
It is also worth noting the focus on programming, which is becoming more and more popular:
The share of all vacancies looking for professionals with Python skills increased by 29% over the previous year.
The complete list provides an interesting context in the current professional environment, which is likely to undergo significant changes as we strive to move beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
It might be worth taking the time to hone your skills in these key areas.
